DEFINITION
ERP Data Model
An ERP data model describes the tables, keys, and relationships that connect records in an enterprise resource planning system — how an invoice links to a purchase order, a receipt, a vendor, and a payment. Analytics cannot run until those relationships are established.
Building this model manually is traditionally the largest cost in a risk analytics engagement, and it is repeated for every new client, module, and ERP version. It is also where most project delay originates.
Autonomous data modelling removes that step by inferring relationships from the data and its structure, so analytics can be defined in business terms rather than after a mapping exercise.
